As we look to the future

"And this is a simple matter in the sight of the Lord." 2 Kings 3:18a

I was struck by the simplicity and power of these words spoken by Elisha, in answer to the threat of destruction by the Moabites.

Can we apply these words to the details and plans for our future at Living Way? I believe the answer is a resounding "yes". As we face transition; leaving the familiar, the 'giants' of money, properties, buildings ... what will be our response as individuals and as a congregation?

I believe we are to answer like Elisha .... "This is a simple matter in the sight of the Lord."

Jesus, may we be people of faith and trust in the coming days!

How to Build Your Day

Scripture
Isaiah 16:5 - A throne will be established in lovingkindness and a judge will sit on it in faithfulness in the tent of David; moreover, he will seek justice and be prompt in righteousness.
Observation
A representative of God's lovingkindness was to be given in the midst of judgment. God delegates authority, giving us responsibility to seek justice and righteousness for people in His Name. Such a person should be prompt in righteousness.
Application
I want to represent the Lord faithfully in everything. Though my intentions are good, I am not prompt.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I hear the phrase "be prompt in righteousness" as a correction and command from You. Today I will look for opportunities to obey and act promptly.
